Et Voilá

If someone asks me about the reason which inspired me to pursue B.Tech in Civil Engineering, I'd always say that I had least amount of interest in the field of Computers and I just wanted to stay away from it for the rest of my life. So, I made myself believe that Mechanics was THE thing for me, if not computers, and started my journey in Jaypee University of Information Technology in the field of Civil Engineering.
Not everyone in this world is lucky, like my brother, who had realized about his passion for Computers in 6th Grade only. It took me a far longer time to figure out those intriguing things which can keep me awake the whole night.
My brother has always asked me to keep trying new things, to explore anything and everything till I figure out what truly excites me, so obviously that Et voilá moment didn't come overnight, it took its own time.
College begun and I started with the things which I had always loved doing.
For instance, Dramatics, well this was one thing which I have enjoyed doing since 6th Grade.
Photography was something which I always wanted to learn, so I joined Photography Club in 1st year and started doing basic photography with Cannon IXUS 115.
And then I Learnt Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, Adobe After Effects through Youtube. These softwares are so amazing that they can really push you to think out-of-the-box. I can spend hours watching their online tutorials, experimenting with them and making innovative projects. Any freaking thing is possible on these softwares. Any freaking thing.
At the end of 2nd Semester, I joined an acting course, in which I learnt about the technical aspects of film-making apart from acting, of course.
I keep myself busy with After Effects whenever I get time because there is so much to learn about it that it always keep my mind preoccupied. We can never know enough about anything, but it doesn't mean that we can't try.
Ideas start pouring in once I indulge myself into Vegas or After Effects. And so one peaceful night, when I wasn't able to sleep, I took my camera, shot some random clippings, combined them through Sony Vegas and made a short film out of it.

I got positive reviews from most of the people who saw it, which left me ecstatic. Yes, It has its own flaws, but it has only build my confidence to believe that I can make something better for the next time.
Had I not taken Civil, I would have never got the required time to explore these things. And Dramatics, Photography, Video Editing, each one of these things are exhilarating to such an extent that they have kept me awake numerous times, and everything is somehow related to film-making.
Now I can see the dots connecting backwards..Everything I have loved doing is part of this one thing. And I can say that it might be THE thing for me. Et Voilá.

The Big Reason

This is my first post on this website and to be honest, I am pretty nervous writing it down. The Big Reason behind it is my brother, Gaurav Munjal. (who I am pretty sure is going to find some big blunders in my writing style and some grammatical errors too).
But he is also The Big Reason who has compelled me to sit down and start writing my blog which I now think is going to be a very helpful, and a constructive thing in many ways.
As I was having no idea about how to make a start, I just had a look at his blog http://blog.gauravmunjal.com/ which I found to be pretty impressive.
So here is my brief introduction.
I am Vaibhav Munjal, presently in first year, pursuing Civil Engineering in Jaypee University of Information Technology. I like to learn things by myself and I want to (at least I try to) know everything which is happening all around the world.
I'll be posting posting about the things, people who tend to influence my life.
That is all for now. :)
